Good morning, beach volleyball fans,
My favorite movie of all time is Remember the Titans. One of my favorite scenes from that movie is when Coach Bill Yoast is exhorting his defense to not let them “gain another yard,” a point he emphasizes by yelling “LEAVE NO DOUBT.”
It’s a bit what Andy Benesh and Miles Partain did this weekend in Huntington Beach, putting on the most dominant showing we’ve seen from a men’s team since Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena in Austin of 2018. Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth, too, continued their tour de force, winning their second straight tournament after a gold in Brasilia, Brazil.
In both cases, there is no doubt: These are the two best teams in the United States.
As for the rest, there’s plenty of room for debate, all of which can be settled in the upcoming AVP League, which has all eight slots per gender now shored up.
